Dr Ismail Usman Soosiwala is a distinguished interventional cardiologist practising at Lenmed Ethekwini Hospital and Heart Centre. He graduated from the Nelson R Mandela School of Medicine in 2003 and completed his community service before pursuing postgraduate specialisation as a physician. He then obtained his fellowship in cardiology in Durban.

Dr Soosiwala worked as a consultant and cath lab director at Greys Academic Hospital in Pietermaritzburg, where he gained extensive experience in complex cardiac interventions. His expertise extends across interventional cardiology, heart failure management, rhythm abnormalities, and structural heart interventions. His team has achieved Transcatheter Aortic Valve implantation (TAVI) accreditation by the American College of Cardiology (ACC). He has also completed the European Advanced Pacing Course, further solidifying his expertise in the field. His contributions continue to advance cardiovascular care, ensuring excellence in patient outcomes.
