Bio

Dr Mohamed Alsharef is a consultant urologist with dual specialist training in general surgery
and urology. He completed his medical degree and surgical training in Libya, followed by
fellowships from the Royal College of Surgeons of England and Edinburgh. After joining the
University of KwaZulu-Natal, he achieved the Fellowship in Urology (CMSA) in 2010 and the
master of medicine in urology in 2012.
Dr Alsharef has extensive experience in the field of urology, complemented by his private
practice at Lenmed La Verna Hospital. His clinical expertise includes urological oncology,
endourology and laser stone surgery, paediatric urology, male and female functional urology,
and the comprehensive management of bladder, prostate, renal, and genital conditions.
