Dr Melanie Wright is a dedicated general practitioner with a passion for delivering what is best for her patients. With 30 years of experience in private practice, she is committed to providing quality, patient-centred care. She completed her Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBChB) at the University of the Free State in 1992. Thereafter, she gained valuable experience working in the departments of internal medicine and family medicine before moving into full-time general practice. Between 2014 and 2017, Dr Wright broadened her clinical exposure internationally, serving as a chief medical officer for International SOS in various countries. For the past eight years, she has been practicing at Lenmed Kathu Private Hospital. Her scope of practice includes general consultations for patients of all ages from babies to the elderly, as well as obstetric care, supporting mothers through pregnancy, delivery and beyond. The practice also offers a weight-loss clinic, a range of IV drip treatments, and ear, nose and belly piercings. Dr Wright believes in a holistic approach to health. She recognises that every person is intricately made up of body, soul and spirit, each interdependent and essential to overall well-being. True healing, in her view, requires addressing all aspects of a person’s being, not just the physical.
