Dr Moonsamy commenced private practice “Kidz Can Haematology” in September 2017 at Lenmed Ethekwini Hospital and Heart Centre. She works together with Dr Keshnie Moodley. It is a fully accredited oncology chemotherapy unit according to the South African Oncology Consortium (SAOC) requirements. “We see a broad spectrum of paediatric conditions which includes all general paediatric conditions, benign and malignant haematological disorders as well as paediatric solid tumours”.

She is a member of the South African Association for Paediatric Haematology and Oncology (SAAPHO) and the International Oncology Society(SIOP). SAAPHO is a group of paediatric oncologists from all the provinces with the aim to formulate national protocols for the treatment of various malignancies. She completed a postgraduate diploma in palliative care medicine specializing in paediatric palliative care with the University of Cape Town in 2022. Palliative care is essential in the oncology field.
