Bio

Dr Bhikha is an enthusiastic and dedicated specialist orthopaedic and fellowship trained spinal surgeon. He
completed his specialist training at University of the Witwatersrand obtaining a master of medicine in
orthopaedic surgery as well as passing the College of Medicine of South Africa board exams. During his
training he gained valuable experience in all facets of orthopaedic trauma, pathology, and reconstructive
surgery. He then further completed subspeciality fellowship training as a spinal surgeon at the Charlotte
Maxeke Johannesburg Academic Hospital. He is a member of the South African Orthopaedic Association
(SAOA) and AO Spine. He is passionate about research and teaching and has presented at various local and
international congresses. He is a motivated, patient orientated and results driven surgeon. He is
determined in providing the best service to his patients by constantly enhancing his medical knowledge
and skill. He is deeply spiritual and routinely engages in philanthropy and community service projects. He
believes in a holistic and multidisciplinary approach in treating a patient’s orthopaedic issues. He upholds
the perspective that “surgery is a routine work day for a surgeon, but a life event for a patient”, thus
provides the meticulous and precise attention that is necessary.
