Bio

Dr Sithembile Ngidi graduated from the University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN) in 2007 and is a fellow of the South African College of Radiation Oncologists. She also holds a masters in clinical oncology from UKZN. Dr Ngidi is a specialist in clinical radiation oncology practicing both medical and radiation oncology. She was a steering committee member of the South African Medical Research Council (SAMRC/UKZN) and Gastrointestinal Cancer Research Centre from 2015 to 2017.

Dr Ngidi was an honorary lecturer for 2 years at the University of Kwa-Zulu Natal. She obtained a certificate from the American Board of evaluators in 2017 and this enabled her engagement in medico legal oncology cases for government and private sector.
Dr Ngidi holds a masters in business administration in specialising in healthcare leadership from the Stellenbosch University Business School in 2021. She is currently in private practice in Johannesburg. Dr Ngidi has served as a peer review panellist for the South African Oncology Consortium from 2017 to date. Dr Ngidi provided academic, clinical governance, business strategy and technical support to University of the Witwatersrand Health consortium in 2017 to 2018.

She served some years in the Radiation Control Technical advisory committee of the South African Health Products Regulatory Authority (SAPHRA). Currently, Dr Ngidi serves as a clinical business consultant and advisor to Impela Consulting, a non-executive board member of Umduduzi Children's Hospice and a board member of the Oncology Healthcare Management Company.
