Bio

Dr Shiraz Gafoor is a cardiologist based in KwaZulu-Natal. He obtained his undergraduate Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBChB) degree at University of the Witwatersrand in 2001. He also obtained his Fellowship of the College of Physicians of South Africa: FCP(SA) and his cardiology degree through the Colleges of Medicine, in South Africa. Dr Gafoor has been in practicing since 2009. He is committed to staying in the forefront of complex cardiovascular medicine and intervention, he is the Lead Cardiologist on the American College of Cardiology (ACC) certified Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation (TAVI) programme at Lenmed Ethekwini Hospital and Heart Centre. Dr Gafoor is also part of the STEMI certified programme with the ACC. This programme aims to ensure the quickest possible time for treatment for patients suffering a heart attack.
