Bio

Dr Mwelase completed his undergraduate degree through the University of the KwaZulu-Natal. He obtained a higher diploma in orthopaedics whilst still training as an orthopaedic surgeon. He then subsequently completed his fellowship with the Fellowship College of South Africa and later his Master of Medicine in Orthopaedics (MMed Ortho). He further did a spine fellowship at Tygerberg Hospital.
As an orthopaedic surgeon, Dr Mwelase’s scope is broad with a particular interest in spine pathology. He is looking forward to providing his surgical skill and expertise combined with evidence-based medicine with a modern perspective on surgical care to all his patients at Lenmed Howick Private Hospital.
