Bio

Dr Welamaza Vabaza is a dedicated and compassionate urologist, adopting a patient centred approach, ensuring the patient is treated holistically, while providing a personalised journey from consultation to post operative recovery. He was born and raised in Mthatha, Eastern Cape. After matriculating he completed his undergraduate training at the Nelson Mandela R School of Medicine in 2013 with a degree in medicine and surgery. He completed his internship at Newcastle Madadeni hospital complex where he was part of the intern representative council, this was followed by a year of community service at Bevan Goqwana health centre, serving the rural community of Qumbu in the Eastern Cape. In 2020 he commenced his specialist training under the University of Pretoria, working at Steve Biko Academic Hospital and Kalafong Academic Hospital. He completed his training in 2024 and was admitted as a fellow of the college of urologists of South Africa and then received his masters in medicine degree from the University of Pretoria.
