Bio

Dr Munasur is a graduate of the University of Cape Town Medical School. He is a Fellow of the College of Cardiothoracic Surgeons of SA and has a Master of Medical Science degree by dissertation. He is a past president of the College of Cardiothoracic Surgeons of SA, and has been an examiner, convenor, moderator and councillor of the College of Cardiothoracic Surgeons of SA. In addition, he has been a two-term Senator as well as a member of the Education and Risk & Ethics Committees of the Colleges of Medicine of SA. He has been a supervisor as well as an external examiner for Masters candidates in cardiothoracic surgery. He is the author and co-author of publications in cardiac and thoracic surgery in peer-reviewed journals and has been an invited speaker at numerous scientific meetings. His area of practice encompasses adult cardiac surgery and general thoracic surgery with a special interest in coronary artery surgery.
