Dr Mashupse Phala is a committed orthopaedic surgeon with a strong academic foundation and dedication to delivering high-quality musculoskeletal care. He completed his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) at the University of Pretoria in 2011, followed by his internship and community service at 1 Military Hospital, where he gained extensive clinical and surgical experience. Driven by his passion for orthopaedics, he commenced his specialist training through Sefako Makgatho Health Sciences University (SMU) while working at Dr George Mukhari Academic Hospital (DGMAH). Dr Phala was admitted as a Fellow of the College of Orthopaedic Surgeons of South Africa (FC Orth SA) in 2020. He subsequently obtained his Master of Medicine in Orthopaedics (MMed Orth), strengthening both his clinical and academic expertise. Currently practising at Lenmed Kathu Private Hospital, Dr Phala combines surgical expertise with a holistic and patient-centred approach to care. He emphasises accurate diagnosis, minimally invasive techniques where appropriate, and tailored treatment plans to promote optimal recovery, early return to work, and long-term function.
