New Palliative and End-of-Life Care Services Launched in Klerksdorp

Klerksdorp, North West, July 2025 – Lenmed Sunningdale Private Hospital, in collaboration with local healthcare professionals, has officially launched a dedicated Palliative and End-of-Life Care Service, bringing vital, compassionate support to individuals and families facing serious or life-limiting illness in the region.

The launch event, held on Wednesday, 23 July 2025, was hosted at the hospital and led by Dr A. Oosthuizen, a specialist palliative care medical practitioner with a deep commitment to dignity- focused, patient-centred care.

This new service represents a significant milestone in the delivery of holistic healthcare in Klerksdorp and surrounding communities. More than a response to end-of-life needs, palliative care is an
essential offering that supports patients throughout the course of serious illness helping them manage symptoms, improve quality of life, and make informed decisions aligned with their values.
