The WSO Diamond Award is one of the highest honours bestowed by the World Stroke Organization, celebrating excellence in stroke care, innovation, and patient outcomes. Receiving this award at the World Stroke Congress is a great privilege and is a testament to the dedication and expertise of our entire stroke care team, including doctors, nurses, support healthcare professionals, and support staff. This award will be the hospital’s fifth consecutive Diamond Award from the WSO.

The award was presented at the World Stroke Congress in Abu Dhabi, which took place from 23rd – 26th October 2024 to Lenmed Ethekwini Hospital and Heart Centre lead neurologist, Dr Dangor and stroke champion, Samantha Myles. This international event brings together leading experts in stroke research, treatment, and prevention to share knowledge and advance the field of stroke care.
