The Sowetan Marathon

November 2024– The Lenmed Group is excited to announce its role as the official medical sponsor
of the 29th Soweto Marathon, affectionately known as “the people’s race,” taking place on Sunday, 3rd November 2023, at Nasrec, Johannesburg Expo Centre, Soweto. This partnership reflects Lenmed’s vision of building healthier and more prosperous communities by supporting the health and well-being of the athletes and the broader community in this prestigious event. This marks the third consecutive year that Lenmed is sponsoring the Soweto Marathon.

Lenmed is eager to collaborate with other sponsors to highlight the importance of physical activity and the positive health benefits associated with the historic Soweto Marathon. Lenmed’s experienced medical professionals will be stationed at designated medical points throughout the course to provide care, address emergencies, and ensure the safety and well-being of all participants.

The Soweto Marathon has attracted up to 40,000 runners in previous years. The race remains a highlight for both seasoned and novice runners alike, not only as a personal challenge but also as a celebration of history and community pride.
