Lenmed Hospitals achieve top Discovery Hospital Care category
November 2022 – Lenmed hospitals proudly receive top ‘better than expected’ Discovery Hospital Care rating
The Discovery Hospital Care ratings were released in November 2022 following extensive work undertaken by Discovery to develop an integrated hospital care rating tool and aims to build on various quality outcomes and initiatives Discovery has worked with Lenmed on over the years.
Discovery has categorized all South African hospitals into 3 categories based on the Hospital Care rating – ‘less than expected’, ‘as expected’ and ‘better than expected’. Lenmed is honoured to have 5 of its hospitals categorised in the top category, Lenmed Ahmed Kathrada Private Hospital, Lenmed Howick Private Hospital, Lenmed Randfontein Private Hospital, Lenmed Shifa Private Hospital and Lenmed Wilmed Park Private Hospital.
Amil Devchand, the Group’s CEO commented, “We are extremely proud that these hospitals have been categorized as ‘better than expected’, the top category. This is a wonderful achievement and simply would not be possible without the consistent commitment and dedication of our teams doing their absolute best for our patients – it is only through remaining steadfast in keeping the patient at the fore of what we do, that we are able to make a tangible difference to the people we serve and build healthier and prosperous communities.”
The Discovery Hospital Care Score comprises of a series of clinical quality measures, indicating the level of clinical outcomes achieved at the hospital, as well as the rating of the patient experience at the facility.
