August 2022 – The Lenmed Group is proud to announce that Lenmed Randfontein Private Hospital has been awarded a formal accreditation by the Trauma Society of South Africa (TSSA).

Randfontein Private Hospital has been awarded Trauma Accreditation based on a rigorous evaluation of the hospital team’s ability to evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients via their emergency department.

This accreditation is aligned to the Lenmed’s vision of becoming a leading healthcare group in Africa and illustrates our commitment to exceptional patient experience and outcomes.

“In South Africa, 30 000 people die each year as a result of a trauma-related death, this is 65% of the total number for the whole of Europe. Our intention is to always do what is best for our patients and communities. Equally, our objective in our accreditation journey was to improve the outcome of trauma-related injuries, as well as for other medical emergencies, by ensuring best practice throughout”, said hospital manager Marietha van Vuuren.

Hospitals receiving the accreditation from the TSSA must take part in a multi-faceted clinical process that involves a progression of analysing current procedures and systems, improving methods and strategies to care for patients, assuring alignment to guidelines, standards and best practices as well as show evidence of community education. The accreditation also ensures holistic patient care – where the hospital’s relationships and partnerships with emergency services, pathology, doctors, the entire network and employees served them well.
