Lenmed Zamokhule Private Hospital supports Thembisa Mile for community health and wellness
October 2023 – Lenmed Zamokhule Private Hospital is delighted to announce its enthusiastic participation as a sponsor in support of the upcoming Thembisa Mile scheduled to take place on 29 October 2023.
As a pillar of the local community and key in driving the Lenmed group’s mission to create healthier and prosperous communities, Zamokhule Private Hospital recognises the importance of encouraging an active and healthy lifestyle, and Thembisa Mile aligns perfectly with this. The race, which has been in existence for over a decade, brings together runners and walkers of all abilities from beginners to professionals and is a testament to the community’s commitment to physical fitness and overall well-being.
The inaugural race, also known as Thembisa Street Mile, took place on 1 December 2012 and comprises 1 Mile (1.6km) and 10km (6.214 miles) events.
During the race, which Lenmend Zamokhule Private Hospital has sponsored since 2016, the team will be actively involved in multiple capacities, offering valuable support and resources to ensure a safe and successful event. Some of the activities and initiatives we will be engaged in include:
Medical assistance stations will be set up along the route, staffed by skilled healthcare professionals. These stations will provide prompt medical attention, hydration, and necessary assistance to participants throughout the event.
Complimentary health screenings will be provided to participants and spectators as an opportunity to assess their vital health metrics. These screenings will help raise awareness about the importance of regular health check-ups and encourage proactive healthcare habits.
Educational Materials: To further promote health awareness, Lenmend Zamokhule Private Hospital will distribute informative brochures, pamphlets, and other educational materials on various health topics, emphasising the significance of exercise, nutrition, and preventive care.
